The Story Behind ImageTight

Why I built this tool for free forever — and how it shrank a 500MB image folder down to 132MB.

The Origin Story

Why I Built This Tool For Free Forever

One day I was building an offline reading APK app for a massive 600-page book. Inside that app, I had an entire folder of high-resolution images taking up over 500 MB+ of space.

I was stuck. The Google Play Store has a strict base module size limit limit. I couldn't publish my app because the images were too heavy, and I simply couldn't find a completely free tool online that would let me bulk compress an entire folder layout without hiding behind a tiny file limit or a paywall.

So, I built ImageTight. Utilizing advanced AI and WebAssembly, I ran my giant app folder through the compressor. The results were immersive: my 500 MB+ folder shrank down to a lean 132 MB, with absolutely zero visible drop in visual quality. My app was approved on the Play Store the next day.

I made this tool completely free so people can easily upload massive folders of images, compress an entire album for Google Photos, or make lightning-fast websites to get AdSense approval. Every web developer and creator deserves a tool like this.

What is ImageTight?

ImageTight is a free, browser-based image optimization engine built for web developers, marketers, photographers, and app publishers who need to process large batches of images without sacrificing quality. It uses Google's Gemini 2.5 AI to automatically detect the perfect compression level for each image, and a WebAssembly neural network for intelligent offline processing — with zero server uploads required for compression tracking.
